You can check yourself using the following questions
1.
Is your summary comprehensive? You should present all the important
points that the author wishes to report.
2.
Is your summary concise? Eliminate repetitions in your list, even if the
author restates the same points. Your summary should be considerably shorter
than the source (approximately 1/4 the length of the original).
3.
Is your summary coherent? The final version should be complete and
unified.
4.
Is your summary independent? Don't simply quote the author. Always
use paraphrase when writing a summary. Write using "summarizing language."
